Our presence
PPC Group currently has a total RES portfolio of installed capacity 6.2 GW (including large hyrdro of capacity 3.2 GW, which belong to the mother company), of which 4.8 GW in Greece and 1.4 GW internationally. In addition, projects with a total capacity of approximately 3.7 GW are in various stages of implementation. Among the total portfolio is included also the flagship solar PV plant of 550 MW at the former lignite mine in Ptolemais. This specific project consists of one of the largest photovoltaic parks in Europe.
The strategic goal of PPC Renewables is to further expand its portfolio in new renewable energy technologies, such as offshore wind and floating photovoltaics, and to develop further energy storage systems using batteries. Based on the strategic plan 2025-2027, the PPC Group aims to build an expanded and diversified portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects, which is expected to reach 11.8 GW by 2027.
The evolution of the company's total installed capacity, as determined by its current business plan, is presented in the recently published ppcgroup's financial results.

Hybrid systems of power generation are based on the combination of two different renewable energy sources:
• wind power
• hydroelectric power
The innovative combination of these two natural resources, for which PPCR invested heavily in scientific and feasibility studies, consists a credible solution to the major issue of storage and controlled grid of the generated power.
The Ikaria's Hybrid Power Plant has been constructed by PPCR, the first of its kind in Europe. The project comprises the Stravokountoura Wind Farm, Proespera and Kato Proespera SHPP's.

The sun is an inexhaustible source of energy which can be converted either directly or indirectly into electricity. Photovoltaic systems take advantage of solar energy directly by converting it into electricity thanks to the photovoltaic effect. The high solar potential of Greece makes the utilization of the above technology particularly efficient.
For a country with a lot of sunshine like Greece, solar energy is an inexhaustible energy resource.

Biomass is the energy produced from materials of organic origin, such as residues of agricultural crops and forestry operations, by-products of agricultural industries, animal waste, the organic part of municipal waste and energy crops.
Biomass in Greece is characterized by a diversity of raw materials, with a local character of concentration, and can have multiple uses depending on the type and the possibilities of its final utilization (production of thermal and electrical energy, liquid biofuels, etc.).

Geothermal Energy is produced from the heat released from the earth’s core and has been used utilized since 1904 to produce clean, "green" energy. Energy’s production secret lies in geothermal fluids, i.e. underground sea water reservoirs or other sources, which are heated to temperatures often exceeding 350°C due to their contact with rocks already heated by the lava inside the earth.
The pumping of geothermal fluids, using advanced technological methods available today, allows not only the production of electricity, but also their utilization in other uses, such as sea water desalination, building heating and cooling, greenhouses heating, etc.
